Summer Outing to Honiton and Colyton

Ian McLellan has arranged a day trip for Tuesday 12th June 2012 to Honiton Museum[Allhallows Museum] and the historic town and market.
The museum has specialist collections of Honiton Lace and Honiton pottery.
Lace making will be demonstrated. There will be time to visit the market and town and have lunch.

After lunch the coach will go to Seaton for a quick visit to this Victorian seaside town.
Then the historic tram to Colyton will be taken and there will be time to visit the tram terminus shop etc and have tea. Cream teas can be booked.




The trip will start by leaving Gillingham by coach between 08.00 and 09.00 hrs from various pick-up points.

10.15 approx. Arrive in Honiton, coffee and comfort break.

10.45-1100 Visit Museum. Tour and see lace making/collection and Honiton pottery case. The Allhallows Museum is in a historic building and as well as the collections has more general interest items.
Time is available to spend as long as you like in the Museum and also to visit the historic High Street and Market[Tuesday is Market day]. There are a number of cafes for lunch. There is plenty of time in the High Street to do your own thing and  browse the stalls which include foods, general items, antiques and tools. There are a number of antique shops and centres in the street.

14.00 approx. Reboard the coach for Seaton arriving there at 14.30. Walk the seaside town. More details of what is available will follow.

15.15. Arrive at the tram terminus and board the tram for the ride to Colyton. This takes 30mins.
On arrival at Colyton there is a display and shop as well as a restaurant for tea. It will also be possible to book a cream tea[at extra cost]. There is also an antique centre adjacent to the tram terminus.

17.00. Board coach for return to Gillingham dropping off at various points 18.15-18.45
